Here’s another post of photos of people and places we saw while we were walking around in Paris every day.
Love those mimes!
And here’s another one.
Cute car!
This is how a lot of Parisians get around – – no matter what their age. Our mini tour bus driver told us he has a scooter. A car doesn’t make sense for him because it takes an hour to find a parking space wherever you go and having a parking space at home is ghastly expensive.
A couple dancing, with music, on one of the bridges at sunset.
A beautiful Paris sunset over the Seine.
Paris’ ferris wheel. It was here when we were in Paris last Christmas but we learned that since then they dismantled and rebuilt it on the same spot.
A new feature is that each of the cars has a photo of a young person with a country’s flag superimposed on his face.
The Eiffel Tower is so photogenic.
A kindergarten class leaving one of the museums.
One day, after we walked forever, we took a pedicab back to our hotel in heavy traffic. These guys earn their money!
Not a good photo, but what is this guy “riding”? Looks like just a wheel and he was really moving along on it.
This is the only homeless man we saw while in Paris.
I don’t believe this man sprawled out and sleeping on a bench behind Notre Dame Cathedral was homeless – – I think he just had a bad night. Or maybe a good night.
Infinity mirror in our tiny hotel elevator.
And last but not least, a few “shopping” photos.
The “super market” just a few doors down from our hotel. What you can see is all there is except for the tiny produce department by the front door.
They did have a really nice selection of produce.
Is this mama cat with her kittens not adorable?
Aaaah…Love those French Macaroons!
This is the famous French ice cream store called Berthillon that is everywhere. There are several of them in our neighborhood and they always have a line in front of them. We got ice cream here once. Or twice…
One of the restaurants we went into had Berthillon and this was their list of flavors. I’m not so sure about that Creole flavor!
This was another fun gift shop.
Some of the bookstalls on the Left Bank. These guys have fascinating books and memorabilia.
by golly am i glad that i happened to double check the blog!…..what a treat!…..the pictures are GREAT…..love all the doors….i bet not a one of them came from lowe’s….ha……the peonies are the prettiest and biggest i’ve ever seen…they are one of my favorite flowers…..luxembourg is gorgeous of course…..i was there in ’84 and had some of the best ice-cream ever….coincidentally, i had the same thought about the little girl in the yellow dress with chocolate ice-cream all over it….vanilla or lemon sorbet would have been a better choice indeed….ha…..need i mention how adorable the mama cat pushing her babies in a buggy was?……just so cute!…..and those mimes, how on earth do they do it?….and for how long i wonder?
all of the gardens were so lovely and i know they must have smelled tremendously wonderful…..
there was one picture in particular that i kept going back to and that was the one of the produce in the little grocery….all organic no doubt…..such vibrant colors and perfectly shaped……reminded me of the little grocery stores and farmer’s markets in germany……btw, that infinity mirror in the elevator made me chuckle…..i mean, why an infinity mirror in such a tiny elevator?……oh well, it doesn’t have to make sense….that’s the charm of europe!……..much thanks for the fun pictures!!
I love these “every-day-life” type pictures. I kept going back to the market and the fresh produce too. It looked so much brighter and cleaner than our produce sections in our markets didn’t it? The ice cream sign made me want an ice cream so bad and I am lactose intolerant. Oh, but it hurts so good!!! lol
I love the mimes too. I don’t know how they stand there still like that. I get restless just looking at them. lol
